The Glenn Miller Orchestra remains one of the most iconic and beloved big bands in history. Originally led by the legendary Glenn Miller during the Swing Era of the 1930s and 1940s, the band achieved massive success with a string of chart-topping hits, unforgettable radio broadcasts, and sold-out performances at theaters, hotels, and dance pavilions across America.
More than 80 years after the public first fell in love with the unmistakable Glenn Miller Sound, the music and the legend continue to thrive. Today, the official Glenn Miller Orchestra is widely regarded as the greatest big band of all time and is the most sought-after orchestra in the world for both concert and dance engagements.
The current Glenn Miller Orchestra was officially formed in 1956 by the Miller Estate in response to overwhelming public demand following the blockbuster success of the hit motion picture The Glenn Miller Story, starring James Stewart and June Allyson. Since then, the band has maintained an active touring schedule, performing approximately 300 live dates per year to audiences worldwide.
