Welcome to the beginning of our 2026–2027 season!
We’re excited to share the first part of our new season with you. There are even more contemporary smooth jazz, blues and other great concert announcements coming in October and November, so stay tuned! Our goal this season is simple: bring you great music, offer plenty of variety, and keep concerts as affordable as possible.
We work hard to keep ticket prices and handling fees to a minimum because we believe you shouldn’t have to spend a fortune just to enjoy a great night of live music. At the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, there are no handling fees at all!
And now, there’s even more good news! A New Ticketing Experience! After more than 20 years with Tix, we’ve made a change and are welcoming Eventbrite as our new ticketing partner. We’re excited about Eventbrite’s user-friendly platform and its integrated marketing tools, which will help us reach more of you—and hopefully introduce BMG Concerts to even more music lovers throughout Central Florida.
A New Home in Melbourne
We are especially excited to be presenting most of our Melbourne concerts at the Gleason Performing Arts Center on the Florida Institute of Technology campus. This beautifully renovated 460-seat venue gives us access to updated sound and lighting technology and a forward-thinking production team. Even better, the combination of a larger seating capacity and more manageable rental and labor costs allow us to keep ticket prices very reasonable.
In fact, you can now purchase two tickets to most of our concerts for $100 or less. That’s something we’re very proud of.
More Great Music Is Coming
This season is all about what we believe matters to you:
Great concerts.
Convenient venues.
Lots of variety.
Affordable ticket prices.
Reasonable—or no—handling fees.
And yes, we’ll continue presenting concerts at the King Center as well.
Additional concerts at the King Center, Gleason Performing Arts Center, Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center and Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts in Winter Park will be announced in October and November. My staff and I sincerely hope you’ll continue to support us by purchasing tickets, bringing your friends and family, and telling your musical friends about BMG Concerts.

The New BMG Concerts Video Wall
A new ticketing system also gave us the opportunity to add something new to the BMG Concerts website—a video wall! It’s a simple, fun way to check out YouTube performances from many of the artists we’re bringing to Central Florida. We hope you enjoy exploring it and discovering some music you may not have heard before.
The Elephant in the Smooth Jazz Room – We Have Been Targeted
For the past several years, many of you have asked why some of the contemporary smooth jazz artists who performed in Melbourne for decades are no longer appearing here. I believe you deserve an honest answer.
There are individuals within the Florida smooth jazz industry who, through their financial influence, have worked to prevent artists from performing with BMG Concerts. I believe their ultimate goal is to push me out of the smooth jazz concert business. For years, I chose to remain silent. I kept documented information about these circumstances to myself because I needed time to process what happened, forgive those involved—and forgive myself for allowing it to affect me so deeply.
I have chosen forgiveness. I wish these people no harm, and I am at peace moving forward. But forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting.
We are currently going through approximately ten years of emails, documents, spreadsheets and financial records stored across two computers. There is a tremendous amount of information to review, and we want to be careful, accurate and fair. When that research is complete, we intend to share a documented timeline explaining what we believe happened and why certain artists with decades of history with BMG have been absent from the Melbourne market. I ask only for your patience. Ultimately, the truth has a way of finding its way into the light.
In the meantime, there is something positive you can do: If there are artists you miss, visit their websites and send them a message. Let them know that Melbourne still loves them. Let them know that the fans who supported them for decades haven't forgotten them. We will continue to work with those artists who wish to work with us to keep contemporary smooth jazz coming to Melbourne, Ormond Beach and Winter Park.
Pivoting Is Part of Life—But Our Commitment to You Remains
Life is about change, growth and moving forward. When I look back, I still find it amazing that something that began with selling CDs, cassettes and vinyl at Record Hut turned into a life filled with concerts, music, friendships and unforgettable experiences. What started more than 33 years ago has become thirty-three years of concerts, events, incredible artists and, most importantly, an amazing community of music lovers.
And that is where my heart is. You.
My staff and I are incredibly grateful for the loyalty, encouragement and support you have given BMG Concerts throughout the years. We truly could not have done this without you. We don't take your support for granted. Our commitment has always been—and will always be—to listen to you, care about the concerts you’d like to see, and continue finding creative ways to bring great music and entertainment to Central Florida.
The music business continues to change. So will we. But one thing will never change: We will continue working hard to bring you great entertainment at prices you can afford, in venues that are convenient and welcoming.
Thank you for allowing us to do what we love. Thank you for buying tickets. Thank you for telling your friends about us. And most of all, thank you for believing in BMG Concerts. We are excited about this next chapter, and we hope you'll be there with us.
